Meet Renee
Born and raised in the far Northern reaches of Alberta, Canada - the Western lifestyle was my way of life. If I wasn’t entering my horse into the local rodeo, my donkey Jenny would do. I spent some years helping out on a family friends ranch keeping the horses fit & stables clean in exchange for rides to the rodeos and jackpots across the province.
When I was 12 we made the move to Australia & it took me no time to find my way back to horses. Riding racehorses for trainers around the Ascott & Lark Hill race tracks was a huge change and I had to adapt & learn new riding techniques. I am still riding racehorses to this day. Working with Ex-Racehorses, retraining them with new skills and disciplines to find new homes & a new lease on life is also something I am super passionate about and I believe is an important part of the industry.
Polocrosse has also been a discovery for me, the fast paced competition which touches on my roots in western riding combined with a fun, family oriented environment is something that I will always come back to and would recommend to anyone.
Over the years I was frequently travelling between Canada and Australia, while in Alberta I found myself working & living outside of Edmonton on a Ranch breeding, foaling, breaking & training horses. I also re-joined in the Barrel Racing scene, competing in the local barrel series, but among I always felt my true passion was working with the horses and their riders on how they could improve, which led me to the path I’m on today.
